What you'll do
- Adapt logical data models, reconcile them against source data, then shape physical models
- Map and analyze client data, making physical design choices for how it is distributed
- Create data views through physical or virtual marts and maintain metadata in its management tool
- Design and orchestrate data workflows, ingesting and curating data with Hadoop tools
- Configure Hadoop clusters, update design documents, and build security, audit, and performance controls
What you bring
- At least five years in data architecture, including big data and large-scale data warehousing
- At least three years working with Hadoop, including Azure HD Insight, DBA work, or visualization

This role suits a mid-level data integration developer with experience across data architecture and Hadoop. The assignment is in Boston for six months and is onsite.

Job Description:
Data Architecture
• Logical data model adaptation – using skills including Erwin, Business Analysis, Data modeling
• Reconcile logical model with data
• Model the physical data models
• Data profiling – Information analyzer/Excel preferred
Data Analysis, Modeling and Design
• Complete Data Analysis/Mapping
• Model client data
• Make key physical design decisions which will impact how the data is distributed in client’s environment.
• Enable Data Views via Physical/Virtual marts or via other presentation tools.
• Maintain metadata within the metadata management tool.
Activities
• High-level design using Business Analysis, Microsoft Azure Platform Knowledge, Blob Storage API Knowledge
• Hadoop cluster configuration using Hadoop big data architecture
• Data ingestion/curation using Pig, Hive, Sqoop or other Hadoop tools
• Update design documents
• Orchestrate data workflows
• Build security and audit controls using Hadoop ecosystem
• Performance tuning of Hadoop ecosystem
Preferred level of experience
• 3+ years experience in Hadoop (including Azure HD Insight technology stack), DBA, Visualization areas.
• 5+ Years experience in Data Architecture including Big Data and Large Scale Data Warehousing.
