What you'll do
- Design and build database structures, schemas, and loading tools that support the system’s broader architecture
- Turn requirements and source data into usable schemas, queries, scripts, and macros, updating existing queries as needed
- Handle database administration, including migration, replication, user access, backups, recovery, tuning, and issue resolution
- Assess database changes and maintenance work, then shape short- and long-term administration and design needs
- Support database information storage, retrieval, data flow, analysis, testing, and documentation
What you bring
- At least ten years of substantial, dedicated database experience
- An active Top Secret/SCI clearance with an NSA Full Scope Polygraph
- Deep DBA experience across migration, replication, access, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
- Hands-on Oracle SQL/PLSQL and SQL experience, plus scripting in JavaScript, Bash or Linux shell, Perl, or Python

Job Summary
- Seeking a Database Engineer/Oracle Database Administrator to support a complex system with exacting interface, performance, and security requirements, and provide database engineering expertise in one or more of the following areas: architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow, network design/ implementation, testing, and documentation
Primary Responsibilities
- Support database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow, and analysis activities
- Support the analysis and evaluation of system improvements, optimization, development, and/or maintenance efforts
- Support the development of long-term and short-term requirements for database administration and design
- Assist in developing databases, database parser software, and database loading software
- Translate requirements and data into usable database schemas by creating or recreating ad hoc queries, scripts and macros, making updates to existing queries, and creating new queries to manipulate data into a master file
- Assist in the development of database structures that fit into the overall architecture of the system under development
- Develop requirement recommendations from a project's inception to its conclusion for a particular Business and IT subject matter area (i.e. simple to complex systems)

Required Qualifications
- Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
- Must have at least 10 years of high-level, in-depth, dedicated database experience
- Must have in-depth experience as a Database Administrator to include proficiency in tasks such as data migration, data replication, user administration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, issue investigation, issue resolution, and general administration
- Must have a solid understanding of databases, primarily Oracle and/or other relational and non‐relational/NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Must have experience using Oracle SQL/PLSQL, and SQL in general
- Must have experience scripting with JavaScript, Bash/Linux shell scripting (in general), Perl, and/or Python
- Must have knowledge of programming languages to include Java
- Must be committed to adopting and adhering to best practices
- Must be able to effectively plan and prioritize tasking
- Must be capable of performing high quality work both independently, and with a team, in a fast-moving environment
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
- Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology and/or as a member of an Agile team
- Experience with Cassandra
- Experience with MongoDB
Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
