What you'll do
- Build and maintain IBM DataStage ETL jobs, using stages to transform and move data
- Create DataStage sequences for batch runs, then use DataStage Director to monitor job execution
- Design database structures and review architecture for data warehouse and business intelligence projects
- Tune Oracle SQL queries by examining explain plans and adjusting database performance
- Troubleshoot ETL and database issues across development, maintenance and project lifecycle work
What you bring
- At least two years building IBM DataStage ETL projects, plus experience with data warehouse or BI technologies
- At least two years working with relational databases and data modeling, including Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
- At least two years in software development and IT, with a degree or qualifying progressive experience
- You can work with Unix or Linux, shell scripts, scheduling tools and database performance features

Mandatory
• 2+ years of experience with back end RDBMS and data modeling / database design(Oracle and DB2 preferred)
• 2+ years of hands on experience in Design, Development & Build activities in IBM Datastage(v8.5 and above) ETL Projects
• 2+ years of experience in software development life cycle
• 2+ years of experience in DW/BI related technologies and tools – MUST
• 2+ years of experience in Project life cycle activities on DW/BI development and maintenance projects
• At least 2 years of experience in Design and Architecture review
• Knowledge of IBM Datastage Architecture, Stages/Transformations, Design, ETL flow, advanced SQLs
• Knowledge of data loading techniques using Datastage
• Develop Datastage Parallel Extender jobs using different stages like Aggregator, Join, Merge, Lookup, Source dataset, External Filter, Row generator, Column Generator, Change Capture, Copy, Funnel, Short, Peek stages etc
• Using Datastage Director for running and monitoring the jobs.
• Created Datastage sequences to run the batch jobs.
• Knowledge Best Practices in Datastage, Performance improvements, implementing CDC, UDFs
• Understanding of Unix/Linux system, file systems, shell scripting
• Strong understanding of scheduling tools such as Autosys, Control- M, Tivoli etc.
• Good knowledge on MF file structures along with RDBMS.
• Provides expertise in determining the strategic technical direction and system architecture for initiatives.
• Hands-on development mentality, with a willingness to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
• Extensive Experience in Oracle SQL, PL/SQL.
• Good experience with database development tools (Oracle, Toad)
• Good understanding partitioning, indexes, Bitmap indexes, triggers, materialized views.
• Good experience in Query tuning, reading explain plans.
• Experience in Financial domain
• Ability to work in team environment and client interfacing skills.
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience and desire to work in a Global delivery environment
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
• At least 2 years of experience in Information Technology
