Description
We are seeking a Data Scientist to support mission-focused work. The Data Scientist applies quantitative, analytical, and statistical methods to explore, model, and extract actionable insights from complex structured and unstructured datasets. Operating within a multi-disciplinary team, this role focuses on leveraging supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms, research design principles, and data science methodologies to support strategic client decision-making and data-driven solutions. The position requires an active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (CIP).
Primary Responsibilities
- Machine Learning & Modeling: Design, train, and evaluate supervised and unsupervised machine learning models to analyze diverse structured and unstructured datasets.
- Methodological Research: Apply research design principles, applied mathematics, computer programming, and data visualization tools to investigate complex data problems.
- Client Advisory: Advise clients on data strategy, data acquisition, data governance, and data infrastructure implementations.
- Data Visualization & Storytelling: Communicate analytical findings and data insights clearly through visual dashboards, written reports, and executive presentations.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of research design principles
- Knowledge of analytic methods and methodological tools used in applied mathematics, computer programming, or data visualization
- Ability to apply supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms on structured and unstructured datasets
- Bachelor's degree
- Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (CIP)
- Must work on-site in McLean, VA
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of data strategy and data governance

Proposed Salary Range: $120,000 – $150,000
