What you'll do
- Keep Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models running, resolving refresh failures, visual defects, DAX errors and gateway problems
- Use SQL Server queries to prepare new datasets, then build or revise reports requested by Finance and Operations
- Adjust tables and relationships when source data changes, and record the model updates you make
- Watch scheduled refreshes for recurring failures and address their root causes rather than applying temporary fixes
- Handle ticketed requests, meet agreed delivery targets and provide monthly work, hours and backlog summaries
What you bring
- At least five years creating and supporting production Power BI in business settings
- Strong SQL Server skills, including joins, CTEs, window functions and query performance tuning
- Fluency with DAX and Power Query, plus a grounding in dimensional data modeling
- You can work independently through diagnosis and delivery, and explain your changes clearly in writing
Who this fits
This part-time, fractional contract suits an experienced analyst who can manage reporting work independently. The schedule is about ten to twenty hours weekly, with an async-first approach and a weekly half-hour check-in with the Finance Director.
From the employer

Maintain existing Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models

5+ years building and maintaining production Power BI in business environments
Strong SQL on SQL Server (joins, CTEs, window functions, performance tuning)
